"RINGER"
Lincoln Park, MI - As the ice slowly melts on the 16th FNHC season, the long time Commissioner has announced his retirement and has named his successor. In an emotional press conference, between tears and wiping his nose with his silken handkerchief, FNHC Commissioner La Package handed over the FNHC reins to a much more youthful and energetic Ringer.
"I cannot summarize all the memories and friendships over the last 18 years. It feels very odd handing this off...but the time is right," said La Package as he bowed his head to gather himself.
Ringer was given a ringing endorsement by the FNHC players. "Perfect" said Tool Time. "Good man, I really like that idea" was Vunderkindt's reaction. "Genius, that's why you had the big chair, I can think of no one better to take your place" added Slava.
"I expected Vunderkindt or Tool Time to step up to the plate," said the more than middle age Iron Orr, "but Bobby was the obvious choice with his proven recruiting skills, on-ice leadership and passionate love for the Sport of Kings and the FNHC. I am in total support of Ringer's ascension into the FNHC's Big Chair."

Well guys it's about that time again,
Just wanted to give an update on the start of the 2011-2012 FNHC season. Our first skate will be September 9th (the Friday of Labor Day week) at Lincoln Park with the price staying at $15 per skater. I am putting in a call to secure our new goalie who will oppose Dano each week in addition to finalizing a backup list. So if you know any goalies pass their number along to me so we can always have a backup.
So new orders of business for this season:
There will be two new procedure/rules changes that will be implemented at the beginning of the season (if others are needed we can cross that bridge when we get there)
1.) We are going to pick and keep teams for four consecutive skates. We'll have a helmet bag with poker chips in them. If you draw a light chip you'll skate light for the next four skates and same for the dark. If numbers are off or people are absent on a "draft night" we can adjust accordingly. (Playoffs will keep the normal two captain draft pattern of the past)This should help teams be more random and worst comes to worst if one team is lop sided its only for four skates not a whole season.
2.) We are going to pick nightly positions. Basically when you get to the bench you'll decide if you want to play offense or defense for the night, and we will keep forwards on one side and df on the other. (For the purposes of explaining 0=off x=def) So the bench will look like this [0000 xxxx], that way you know exactly who your getting off for and we won't have a time where all five people decide that they want to play offense and our goalies are left helpless. Jimmy and I went to a drop in a couple of times this summer that used this format and it was extremely successful and frankly a lot of fun. There are many of us who prefer playing one position over another so this will work towards our playing strengths. However, you don't have to be stuck there all night ex. if I decided I wanted to switch to forward i can ask jimmy for example if he wants to switch for a couple shifts or the rest of the night and we can make that trade. Again we'll adjust accordingly with numbers but if numbers work we'll have at two to three defensive pairs and forward lines (ideally).
So those are the big things, if there are any questions or comments please reply. Have a great month guys and we'll see you soon.
-Your New Commissioner
